The City of Edgewater is currently looking for the next Police Chief. City leadership envision the next Edgewater Chief of Police to be an effective communicator who is genuine, personable, welcoming, and humble in all facets of their interactions with the community, department members and city staff. The ideal candidate will also be a strategic leader who is innovative, proactive, and forward-thinking with a passion for policing.

Community Panel

Join the Community Panel to assist City Leadership with the hiring process. This panel ahs already met and will continue to meet through the process providing community input throughout the process. For more information or to join the group please email communityinput@edgewaterco.com.

Edgewater Chief of Police Recruitment Community Survey

The survey provides opportunity for community members to voice their ideas of the ideal candidate. Survey information will be used to narrow down the field of applicants to the few finalists that will be brought in for interviews. Electronic surveys can be found on this sit below under "Survey". For a printed survey please stop by the Edgewater Civic Center first floor desk.

Meet and Greet Event: Thursday, February 13 from 6-8pm

Finalists for the Police Chief position will be brought in for a Community Meet and Greet on Thursday, February 14 from 6-8pm at Jefferson Jr/Sr High School. This event will give community members the opportunity to meet and talk with finalists in the Police Chief Recruitment process.

    The City of Edgewater is in the final stages of selecting a new Police Chief. After a thorough search, the field has been narrowed down to four outstanding candidates. To ensure the community has a voice in this important decision, the City is hosting a Community Meet and Greet.

    This informal event will give residents the chance to meet and interact with each candidate. It's a unique opportunity to ask questions, share your thoughts, and provide valuable feedback to the City Manager, who will make the final hiring decision.
